Comparative conditions for obtaining the "Internal Auditor" specialist license from the IIA of Montenegro
for the economy sector
According to CORS (Articles 1.43-1.45), our candidates for internal audit specialization must meet the following conditions:
1) That persons who previously obtained the accounting certificate of Authorized or Certified Accountant, and during the education according to IES, passed the exams for internal and external audit;
2) That people who have at least 3 years of work experience in their accounting title (certificate) (with prior verification!) ;
3) That persons who have achieved continuing education (CPD) of 120 points for the previous 3 years, i.e. 40 points per year
Our practice has shown that internal auditing cannot be done by anyone without exceptional accounting or auditing knowledge, because otherwise quality is compromised.
In our Law on Accounting and Audit, until now, there is no definition of who can deal with internal audit.
In order for you to better understand our efforts to improve the accounting profession and the way to obtain the title of "Internal Auditor" for the economic sector, we provide a comparative view that best reflects what a candidate for an internal auditor at the IIACG and at the ISRCG should go through:
